Birthday!

Hey Everyone,
As you may know yesterday was my blogs first every birthday, I had planned that this would go up yesterday but unfortunately I was too busy and lost track of time so I suppose it is better late than never!

Thinking back over this past year for the first two months of having my blog I didn't really use it as I had no idea as to what direction I would send it in. Even though I started to use it in January it was really only based on my Skiing trip which I must say if you ever get the chance to go on one it is a once in a lifetime experience. In the month of May I really decided that I wanted it to be a beauty blog and so i wrote my first ever review on the Soap and Glory Scrub Your Nose In It face scrub here which to this day still stands to be one of my most viewed blog posts. Since then I have been uploading on a more regular basis and have altered the look of my blog multiple times to now what I think is something more that I like. Also in the past months I have joined up to bloglovin and I have had some wonderful followers on there which has made me still keep this blog up as for a while before that I was putting a lot of time into it and not getting anything from it.

Honestly looking over this past year you can see how much my blog has grown and I also feel that I have grown and learned so much from this experience. I would like to hope that my blog continues to grow over the next few years and that it only keeps going up. Once again a huge thank you to my followers whom have took the time to follow my blog and to read its posts.
Thank You,
Grainne <3
P.S. I am not too sure if I will get a blog post up on Wednesday as I have a GCSE Physics Exam on Friday please bear with me during this time.

My Make up- Night-time Edition

Hey Everyone,
Last Friday night I went to a local disco with my friends and while I was looking through my photos I noticed that it would make a great blog post to tell you what make up I used. I kept my make up quite neutral I didn't want to go too dramatic so I went for a slightly smoked eye and a pink lip.

To start off I primed my face with Catrice Cosmetics Prime and Fine face Primer.

I then used a mixture of Rimmel stay matte foundation in 300 and Rimmel lasting finish foundation in 200.

Then to cover up any blemishes or under-eye circles I used my collection Lasting Perfection concealer.

Once my base was finished I covered my whole eyelid in collection work the colour eye shadow pencil. Review
I then layered some Organza (left) all over my eyelid and then put Gift Basket (right) in my crease
both from the Sleek Oh So Special Palette.

I used my Collection gel eye-liner to line my lash line and water line.

Once I curled my eyelashes I put some Maybelline Rocket volume Express mascara.

I then filled in my eyebrows with my Maybelline master shape brow pencil.

Then I set them with the lighter shade in my essence eyebrow stylist set.

I then contoured my cheek bones with my MUA pressed powder in Shade 4.

I bronzed my skin with my Essence bronzing compact powder in 01 Bronzing queen.

I put some pink back into my cheeks with my Essence silky touch blush in 20 babydoll.

I would then set my face with my Rimmel Stay Matte pressed powder in 006 warm beige.

To lightly line my lips I used No7 precision lip pencil in plum.

I then covered my whole lip area with my Rimmel lipstick in 006 pink blush.

Finally I coated my lips in a Barry M lip gloss and away I went.

Vintage Things!

Hey Everyone,
Today I have decided that I am going to show you different things I have added to my room to give it a more vintage feel because as you know I love everything vintage or vintage inspired.

The First thing which I have which I think has a bit of a vintage feel of it is my hairdressing head, I bought this a few years ago to try different hairstyles on and I think it is a really handy thing to have. I have done a vintage inspired look in it right now while i am not using it so it would blend in with the theme.

I really love this little piece of wall art which I fell in love with as soon as I saw it, I think it it really cute and it was a bargain!

The next thing you may of seen before in my summer look book which is my loved mannequin I got this for my birthday and I love it. I actually made the skirt that is on it which I am very proud of  because it looks like something you would buy in a shop. I love my Cath Kidston laptop bag so much that I keep it on my mannequin at all times unless I am using it!

The next thing i have would have to be my favourite thing in my room and the thing which I am most proud of and it is my purple chair. When i first got this chair it was a deep pine and was busted but I fixed it up and I painted it a really cute purple colour. I got the inspiration for this from one of my favourite T.V shows Kirstie's Vintage Home. On my chair I have a pillow which I can remember having since I was a child and I love it, hidden behind that is my baby blanket which means a lot to me.

If you do not know already I like to be organised and a way to incorporate organisation into vintage is to use JARS, lets just say I love pots and jars.

the next thing I have is a photo frame which used to be hot pink but I decided to just save my money and paint it the same colour as my chair. This has just got some old photos of me and my family in them.

The next thing which I have hung around my mirror are heart fairy lights which are battery operated which is great and I think they are so cute.

The next thing I love to rave on about and they are Yankee candles I just think the are great and they give off such an nice smell and in the vintage era I guess some people would of used candles as a form of light.

The next thing I have is my pin board which I recovered with the same fabric that I made my skirt out of and some red ribbon. I love my pin board because it holds so many of my beloved memories.

I love my lampshade, I think it is very vintage themed with the butterfly's and the cream colour.

The next lovely vintage thing is my bed. My duvet cover is once again Cath Kidston. I am not too sure where I got all of my cushions but if you don't already realise I made the two cream cushions at the back out of the same material as the skirt and the pin board.

The next thing that I think is quite vintage is my wall clock, I really like the floral design on it and it always seems to keep me on time!

The last and final thing that I think has some vintage in it is my bedside table. I really like my little birdcage and my friend Maeve actually gave me the picture frame with the collage in it a few years back which I love!
My box of tissues even has a vintage theme to it.

Thank you for taking the time to read this and i hope you get some inspiration from it. If you have any questions leave them as a comment below.
I would also like to thank all of the people who have recently followed me on Bloglovin and if you have not I would love if you do as I have lots more posts to come.

Dancing While It Is Raining?

Hey Everyone,
I know this is not on schedule but I just thought I would tell you why I have decided to change the name of my blog!
For a while now I have been thinking of changing the name of my blog because I just thought "Grainnes Life" wasn't that interesting and wouldn't catch the human eye, so I have decided to name my blog after my favourite quote:
I couldn't get the name exactly on point because the were all took up so in the end up I had to call it "Dancing While It Is Raining" Which I am very happy about. I just love this Quote because it is about making the most out of life no matter what the situation is which I believe in truly!
As you may know my blog has been going under a lot of changes recently I just want to make it perfect and I am gradually getting there but there is a while to go yet, if you have any ideas of what I could do I would love to hear them and I will take them all into consideration.
P.S. My one direction tickets came yesterday and I cant wait for the concert eeekkk.

Hope you like the new name!
