Updated School Makeup!

To be honest I don't know where the summer went because it literally flew by (this may be because I was on a One Tree Hill episode marathon where I watched every single episode of all twelve seasons only to sleep and eat!). I have decided to come back to blogging now that I am back at school and back in a routine. Since my last school make-up routine here I have started using some different products so I have decided to tell you what what I slap on my half asleep face every morning.

  1. Bourjois healthy mix Foundation in the shade 51 light vanilla
  2. Wet n Wild cover all concealer palette
  3. Seventeen Stay time concealer in the shade extra fair
  4. Collection sheer loose powder in the shade 1 barely there
  5. Max Factor false lash effect fusion mascara in the shade black
  6. Maybelline baby lips in either pink punch or cherry me
I am not allowed to wear too much make up to school therefore i keep it quite plain and simple.
Insert awkward Selfie in the morning!

What I Wore: September Night Out!

Two Friday nights ago I went to a teenage disco with my friends and I have decided to show you what I wore. What I like about this outfit is that you could wear it during the day time if you put on a cardigan and a pair of black tights, it is very versatile.

My top is from Primark / Penney's
My skirt is from H&M
For the photos I wore a pair of black high heels from the brand Carrou however after I changed into a pair of black high top converse for comfort.

This is a picture of the top as a whole just so you can see the design of it up close.

I just thought I would add in this picture of my friend Natalia and I as I really like it.

Midweek Madness!

I was just on my net book and I decided that I would write a little post. So how have you all been (if anyone is there)? I have been reading a new book which I got on Amazon called Eleanor and Park and I really like it it is a love story from many years ago about two teenagers. I am not the best at the description but it is definitely worth buying. I am going out on Friday night to a teenage disco so I might do a what I wore post and hopefully on Sunday I should have my everyday school make-up post up!

Westport House fun!

During my last week of the summer, my family and I went to the west of Ireland on holidays. when I was younger my Aunt used to own a mobile home beside the beach so many of our holidays were spent in Westport. One of my favourite places in Westport was Westport house, an old estate which was renovated into a family friendly adventure park with the houses grounds around you. Due to the age that I am now I wouldn't be able to go to the adventure park however if you brought any little one with you it would be a great days fun as I remember it being. A few things had changed since the last time I was there but still it brought back all of the exciting childhood memories!

Throw Back to my sister Aoife (right) and I (left) on the duck boats that you pedal.

Flash forward roughly ten years time to my photos of the grounds and some of the rides.

Insert awkward selfies of my not so great face in front of the house.

This is only a glimpse at what is to offer and I recommend it as a day out for young and old no matter what age!

A few Little Purchases...

Here is four items which I thought I should tell you about;

Tanya Burr Lip Gloss in Afternoon Tea;
Recently I have been loving wearing nude lips and when I came across the Tanya Burr Lips and Nails stand in my local Superdrug I automatically grabbed the nudest pinkest colour there was and without any deliberation it was purchased straight away. The lip gloss smells like sweets which I love and it has great pigmentation. it is not sticky so your hair doesn't get stuck in it on a windy day or you don't have it joining your lips together in a sticky mess. It is one of my new favourite lip glosses and hey it is by the wonderful Tanya Burr.

Seventeen Ultimate Guide to Beauty;
for the past two years I have loved reading the seventeen magazine as I can get it in my local Easons and when I found out that they had a book about beauty I wanted to own it. For a long time I have been loathing over this book thinking is it worth buying but with my new funds that I have I decided "fudge it I'll buy it". I love this book it has make-up, hair, nails and anything else you may need to know about beauty with handy tips and tricks. I have nearly read it front to back and I feel like it is possibly my beauty bible when I am in a sticky situation.

Soap & Glory, The Ultimelt and Face Soap and Clarity Face Wash;
At this moment in time my face has been going out of control with break outs and I am trying to reign it back in but it is a very hard job as new pesky little spots keep re-appearing. A few days back my sister let me use her face washes and I fell in love as there was a great difference in my skin. Unfortunately she is not going to let me use them every day, therefore I decided to buy them myself. The Ultimelt is a hot cloth cleanser which is great at taking off your make-up and taking any impurities out of your skin. The face soap is great at getting rid of spots and preventing them from coming back. I have not yet used my own as I am trying to use up some other of my products before I open new ones. However in the next week I should have used up my other face washes and then I can take a good go at these new washes and see how they effect my skin in a long term effect.

There was some of the new things I have bought, I hope you enjoyed this blog post!

New Job!

Its Summer, this means no school and excessive shopping. when you are a teenager and you love make-up and clothes money can be quite a problem. I will be 16 in August which means that right now I am able to work. So obviously I have decided to get a summer job (my mother wants me out of the house) for a few hours a week. Now that I know that I will have my own income without having to spread out any money that I may get at my Birthday and Christmas, I can splurge (reasonably) on some beauty and fashion items which I get very excited about.
"What is your actual job?" you may ask, basically I work in a local hairdressers where I wash hair, sweep the floor, take appointments and make a substantial amount of tea and coffee. It probably sounds quite boring to many people but the thing is when you are doing them few jobs you don't stop from 9 to 5 (cue Dolly Parton song) and there fore the time flies by. I am very appreciative of my job and I cant wait to go on some shopping sprees and share some reviews and hauls with you!

Vintage Rose Cupcakes

As I am now off for the Summer Holidays I have went on a baking overdrive as I am obsessed. The other day I had been to the dentist and I was in terrible pain therefore I decided to go on YouTube. I found this great tutorial on icing roses so later on in the day I decided I would have a go at creating them. To be honest I was very proud of myself as this was my first try and they tasted great!

Ingredients;
Makes 12
Cupcake
  • 110g/4oz butter or margarine,
    110g/4oz caster sugar
    2 free-range eggs,
    1 tsp vanilla extract
    110g/4oz self-raising flour
    1-2 tbsp milk

Icing

175g unsalted butter
350g icing sugar, sifted
a couple of drops of vanilla extract (optional)

Method
  • First you preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius.
  • To make the cupcakes you can use the all in one method where you basically just add all of the ingredients at once and just mix it with a mixer or with a spoon however sometimes I like to add the ingredients one at a time to make sure the mixture is smooth with no lumps.
  • When the mixture is smooth you then evenly distribute the mixture into the cupcake cases on the tray.
  • Bake the cupcakes in the oven for 20 to 25 minutes.
  • when the cupcakes are springy to touch take them out of the oven and place them on a cooling rack.
Icing
  • first cream the butter until it is smooth and then gradually add in the icing sugar mixing every time.
  • if you are using the vanilla extract you would then add it in to the butter cream icing.
  • fill your piping bag and you are ready.
  • Instead of myself typing out the method of the roses I am going to link you to the YouTube video as it is easier to show than write and probably if I wrote out how to do it your cupcakes would turn out to be a catastrophe. Here is the link to the YouTube video.
If you decide to make these cupcakes tag me in your pictures on instagram and twitter so I can have a look at them!

Moses Sandals

Around a month ago I went shopping to Primark and I bought theses sandals. Personally when I was buying them I thought how practical they were for example the are a light brown therefore you can basically match them with anything and also they have a mainly closed toe which means you can get away with a bit of chipped nail polish. I also just thought they were pretty cute. This was not the story when I got home... my brother and sisters thought that my sandals looked like something that Moses would wear in the desert. Obviously they were only joking about this but I took it slightly to heart and they were then slipped into my wardrobe for another day. When the sun broke out and it was 28 Degrees Celsius outside I decided fudge it I am going to wear them and ever since them I have barely took them off. I decided that there isn't much point in caring about what other people think therefore I wore my Moses sandals with pride and I have gotten multiple compliments on them since.
The Sandals were around the 3-5 pound mark in Primark.

New Name... again?

This is the third time I have changed the name of my blog and to be honest I pity the you who actually take the time to type in my blog name as probably I have lost a few followers along my way as the URL has changed multiple times. To be honest I changed my blog name from www.dancingwhileitisraining.blogspot.com as you can already see that it is far too long and basically is a eye sore. I tried many shortened down names still related to the topic but it ended up they were all taken by blogs that were last wrote on in 2000 (seriously do you not think blogger should have shut them down already), therefore I decided to create a name which was relevant to me as this is my blog.
After around and hour of thinking I came up with the name Bluebell Island this is because when ever my sisters and I were only at the highest hip height we would go exploring in our uncles fields. One day during the summer we came across a little hollow or valley which was flooded with Blue Bells. Ever since then we have called it Bluebell Island. Bluebell Island is a place where imagination flowed and dreams came true. Even though I haven't been there for a right few years now it holds a lot of memories from my childhood,  it is very special to me and so is my blog therefore why not incorporate the two?
P.S. Tomorrow i am getting my hair highlighted and cut for the summer as it is looking ferocious and if I am happy with it I may put up some posts of it.

School Is Out For Summer!

I have finally finished school for the summer and let me tell you it feels great. I know that for the past while I haven't been uploading posts to my blog and if I have they haven't been in much detail but I have decided to come back from my break away from my blog today as I have been thinking about it for ages. I have decided that this summer is going to be the best one yet as in September I start 5th Year which means i will be doing most of my GCSE Exams as I have already done some of the modules last year. I have a lot of things going on this summer and I am bringing you along with me. I also have lot's of posts which include Baking, Fashion and Beauty. Also in a few weeks I hopefully will have a fashion post up showing some of my favorite summer pieces. Recently I have been loving experimenting with photography and I having been taking pictures of flowers in my garden, I will leave some snaps at the end of this post. By the end of this week or the start of next week I will have a post up on some of the concerts I went to in the month of May I will tell you what I thought about them and show you some pictures that I took.

Sorry

For those whom read my blog I would like to give a big apology as I have been slacking an awful lot recently. Right now I am doing part of my GCSE's which are very important exams and therefore I have been putting my blog lower on my list of priorities. As soon as my exams are over I promise I will be uploading more regularly, but for now I have recently started back on Tumblr so you can see what I am up to over there along with the usual's Twitter and Instagram.
Thank You for taking the time to read this!

Wet n' Wild has landed!

Finally from over the seas Wet n' Wild has landed here in Ireland and soon coming to the Uk. I have noticed the counter in Penneys (Irish Primark) and in local pharmacies. I don't think the counters will be in shops like Boots or Superdrug as I think it will only be in little pharmacies like the European brands Essence and Catrice Cosmetics, but you never know. When I saw the stand I knew I had to buy something so I bought the eyeshadow trio in "Walking on Eggshells" and the cover all concealer Palette. Both of these purchases were great and I was very happy with them. I definitely want to try some of their lipsticks as I have heard great reviews on them but that will have to be at a later stage.

Town with the Girls!

This time last week I was shopping in my local town with my friends, I knew I would be doing a blog post about this so I decided to take pictures. My friend cara vlogged the day however she has not yet uploaded it to youtube yet but here is her youtube: link.

We got the bus into town so of course we had to take a selfie! In this picture I am on the left, my friend Maeve blog is in the centre and my other friend Cara (mentioned above) is on the right. This is the only picture of actual people that I took and unfortunately one other of my friends Julie Ann blog lives in town and so I didn't get a picture with her.

After doing some shopping and dragging cara around boots like she was a little child whom was tired (however she was on her best behaviour... that does include her standing there with her hands up to her face like she was imitating sleeping and having a look in her eye like she is lost) we finally met up with the other girls and went for lunch at Cafe Mauds (I tried to put the accent in above the "e" but it just wasn't working). Here I tried to do the lifestyle blogger type of photo but I failed at it to be honest.

Along with my red slushie I ordered a pizza as many of my friends know I get hungry very easily and when my tummy gets hungry, it gets hungry! I ordered the make your own pizza with toppings of chicken and bacon. I must say it was truly scrumptious! (que Chitty Chitty Bang Bang sing along) After this we just went to the local play park for a little while as soon after we had to catch our bus home.

Purchases;

In sports direct I bought what is called the Nike downshifter 5- basically the lightest and brightest running shoe they had to motivate me to run.

Boots was having a 3 for 2 offer on all makeup and I had a gain 300 extra points on seventeen voucher from my card to use so I done a little shopping. The first thing I bought was the Barry M Gelly hi-shine lip pencil in the third colour as you know me I am attracted to bright colours.
I also bought the Seventeen phwoarr paint in the shade fair for my undereye bags. The packaging of this reminds me an awful lot of the Bobbi Brown corrector.
Finally I bought the Seventeen mirror shine lipstick in Beehive as after Lilly and Anna talking about it for soo long I just had to buy it.

Sorry that the second picture is a bit dodgy I will try to take a better one next time!
My other friend natalia was not able to come with us but I thought I should link her as well as it wouldn't be fair if I left her out as she has a really good blog as well here.

Cute Quote

Whilst scrolling through twitter I saw this quote and though I just had to share it with you all. Who knew that only Peter Pan (or the Author of the story) could have such a beautiful quote about never saying goodbye!
